Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to making scientific knowledge accessible to everyone.

Our Commitment

AllScience is committed to ensuring that our platform is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we continually work to improve the experience for everyone.

Accessibility Features

We have implemented the following features across the platform:

  • Keyboard navigation — All interactive elements are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone.
  • Screen reader support — Semantic HTML, ARIA landmarks, and descriptive labels are used throughout the interface.
  • Color contrast — Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratios in both light and dark themes.
  • Responsive design — Pages adapt to different screen sizes, zoom levels, and orientations without loss of content.
  • Alt text on images — Meaningful images include descriptive alternative text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Skip navigation — A skip-to-content link is provided on every page so keyboard users can bypass repeated navigation.

Known Limitations

While we aim for full compliance, some areas have known limitations:

  • Complex data visualizations (charts, graphs, and interactive figures) may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We provide text summaries where possible.
  • Some third-party embedded content may not meet the same accessibility standards we apply to our own pages.

We are actively working to address these gaps.

Feedback

If you encounter an accessibility barrier or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us at jb@allscience.net. We take every report seriously and will do our best to respond within two business days.
